Pole Mounted Camera Interface

The Pole-Mounted Camera Interface is a convenient way to power to eight fixed IP cameras and two PTZ cameras and provide a data path for the video and data communications.  The unit includes a managed switch, permitting a data path for all 10 video streams.    A second data stream is also provided for systems requiring redundancy.   All of the electronics are packaged to fit within the pole to provide protection from the elements and from tampering.

Product Overview

Ideal for installing multiple cameras on a single pole, the Can also be used for two poles in close proximity. The Pole-Mounted Camera Interface provides an easy link over an existing Ethernet network.

The Pole-Mounted Camera Interface provides eight inputs for fixed cameras. Each input is capable of powering a single device up to 13 watts PoE. Total PoE power is 48 watts, allowing 6 watts each for eight fixed cameras. In addition, two PTZ cameras can be directly powered at 20 watts each. Camera intefaces are via simple CAT-5e cables. The Pole-Mounted Camera Interface automatically detects any PoE camera that is connected and powers it accordingly.

The Pole-Mounted Camera Interface operates over a wide temperature range. This allows mounting in poles that are out in direct sunlight in any climate (optional heaters may be required in cold climates).  The unit features remote camera power rest to force a hard camera re-start.

The unit includes contact closure Tamper Monitoring switch to provide instant remote notification in the event there is unauthorized opening of the unit.

All copper interfaces—CAT-5e from the cameras and AC input power—are protected from electrical surges. This helps to provide a rugged, worry-free product.
